To support the school curriculum the library program depends on access to an organized collection of appropriate materials in a variety of formats including- books, magazines, videotapes, DVDs, computer discs, pamphlets, CDs and audio tapes. The library program is the responsibility of a Library Media Specialist. Volunteer staff is always welcome.
****Here are a few ways you can help.****
Box Tops for Education- We collect Box Tops for Education labels all year long and we offer an incentive. For every 25 Box Tops a child brings in they will receive a certificate to check out an extra book during their next library visit. Feel free to ask aunts, grandparents and neighbors to collect Box Tops for you.
Hannaford Dollars- During the fall months, Hannaford gives out “Hannaford Dollars” when you purchase participating products. Bring those slips to the library before the December deadline and Hannaford will send us a check.
School Store- During the first few weeks of December, we offer School Store. Students can come to the library during their lunch recess to purchase various school supplies as well as holiday gifts.
Book Fair- The Scholastic Book Fair is held every April (usually the week before April vacation). There are hundreds of titles to choose from for all different interests.
The money we raise from these programs is used to purchase materials for our school library so everyone benefits.
About Your Library Media Specialist
Greetings Webster Families!
My name is Mrs. Domin and I am the Library Media Specialist. Before I joined the Webster family in the fall of 2007, I worked as a public librarian (both Children’s and Young Adult) in Lawrence, Massachusetts. I have an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education, a Bachelor’s degree in English Education, and a Master’s degree in Library Science. I am an avid reader and I like to learn new things. When I’m not in school, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two dogs. We like to hike, go to the beach, and hangout around the house together.
I look forward to getting to know each student and their family.
