MANCHESTER – Do you know an exceptional educator? Nominations are open for New Hampshire Teacher of the Year, however you’ll need to hurry: The nomination period closes this Friday, February 2.
You can nominate an educator (or educators) online through the New Hampshire Department of Education, which facilitates the state teacher of the year competition. The winner of each state’s competition goes on to the national level. You can make your nomination by clicking here: https://bit.ly/3QJXtsK.
In 2023, a record number of educators were nominated for the New Hampshire title, and a stunning 28 of them – nearly a third of the total nominees – hailed from our school district. Gregory Parker of Memorial High School made it all the way to the final four.
Nominees for Teacher of the Year must first accept the nomination, then complete an application. All nominees are announced in the spring, before a selection committee names semi-finalists. Semi-finalists then make a presentation in the summer, and the committee narrows the list again to four finalists. After site visits with each finalist, the winner will be announced in October.
